Easter and First Words

Well, we decided to try something new this year and took Ayana to her first community Easter Egg hunt, it was a complete bust! They didn't have an actual hunt for the 0-2 age group, so we were going to have her try to hunt with the 3-4 year olds. However, the 3-4 year olds got too impatient and started themselves about 5 minutes early. The other bigger kids were so crazy that Ayana just kind of wandered on the outside of the circle and didn't get any eggs. After that we took her over to the 0-2 section where we waited in line to get an egg from the Easter Bunny, but the Easter Bunny gave her hard candy, which of course we wouldn't let her eat. Oh well, we got some cute pictures of her with her Easter basket at the park.

On Easter morning she did a little better and only needed a little help to find the Easter eggs and such hidden around the living room. She also loved coloring on the hard boiled eggs we decorated Saturday night. The Easter Bunny brought her a giant stuffed puppy as big as her that she absolutely loves and drags all around the house.

Ayana has taken her sweet time in deciding to talk, in fact she still has never really said Mommy or Daddy yet. However in the last week she has started saying "good girl" all the time. So I guess those are her official first words! I've never known another kid with those for first words, but it is certainly better than something like "no!"

Trever got his grades for the semester, and he received all A grades. The university is reviewing the possibility of allowing some more of his credits from school in Alaska to transfer after all, and if they accept them then he should qualify for a full tuition academic scholarship, so keep your fingers crossed that they will accept at least 10 of them.
